Agatha’s Almanac – Movie Showing

October 16 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

MHV Auxiliary presents Agatha’s Almanac

Doors open 6:30 pm, coffee and refreshments served

Join the MHV Auxiliary for the showing of Agatha’s Almanac, the incredible true story of 90-year-old Agatha Bock. Proceeds from the event go to the MHV Auxiliary, which supports the mission of Mennonite Heritage Village.

90-year-old Agatha forges a solitary existence on her ancestral farm, preseving heirloom seeds in her handmade universe. Without a drivers license, cell phone, running water, or even a functioning landline Agatha’s daily rituals form a vivid counterpoint to modern life.

Synopsis from Agatha’s Almanac

Shot by an all-female crew, the project captures the handmade materiality inherent in both the medium of film and Agatha’s tactile world. It serves as a powerful conduit for often-overlooked stories, amplifying voices and rural perspectives. Agatha’s life offers a window into the experiences of a nearly lost generation, whose value and ways of living are at risk of fading as the world rapidly changes.

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone, or at the front desk.
