11:00 am – Auditorium

Join Eunice Harrison for a presentation on Gathering in the Spirit of Reconciliation and Family Connections.

Eunice Harrison is a proud member of the Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation whose life and work have been guided by a deep commitment to family, community, culture, and service. She retired from the Government of Canada after an accomplished 35-year career in the federal public service. Following her retirement, she continued her dedication to serving Indigenous communities by working for two years with the Province of Manitoba’s Department of Families as Manager of Indigenous Partnerships within the Indigenous Jurisdiction Office.

Throughout her career, Eunice has been recognized for her leadership, relationship-building, and commitment to advancing Indigenous voices and priorities. While serving in the federal public service, she had the distinction of being the first moderator to speak during the inaugural Orange Shirt Day observance, helping to foster meaningful dialogue on truth, reconciliation, and the ongoing legacy of residential schools.

At the heart of Eunice’s life is her family. A proud mother of four sons, she values the importance of maintaining strong family connections and creating welcoming spaces where relationships can flourish. Known for her warm, family-friendly approach, she believes that healing, learning, and growth begin with respect, kindness, and a strong sense of belonging.

Eunice is actively learning the Ojibwe language as part of her ongoing journey to strengthen her connection to her Anishinaabe identity and culture. She is also a devoted supporter of traditional teachings and ceremonies and attends Sundance ceremonies whenever her schedule permits. Her commitment to cultural preservation and lifelong learning reflects her desire to honor those who came before her while helping to inspire future generations.

In her personal time, Eunice enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors. She strives to walk a path grounded in Anishinaabe values, traditions, and teachings, carrying those principles into all aspects of her life. Through her dedication to family, community, culture, and service, Eunice continues to make a positive and lasting impact on those around her.
